FAQ

Is my voice recorded or uploaded?
No. All audio stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server, recorded externally, or uploaded anywhere.
Why does my mic sound too quiet?
Your microphone input volume may be set too low in your system or browser settings, or the microphone is too far away. Moving closer to the mic or raising your input volume in your sound settings usually resolves this.
Which mic is being tested?
The test uses the device currently selected in the microphone dropdown below the card. By default, it connects to your operating system's default input microphone.
Does this work on a phone?
Yes. It works directly in modern mobile browsers including Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android without installing any app.
Why does the browser ask for permission?
Browsers require microphone permission to protect your privacy and ensure that websites cannot listen or record audio without your explicit consent.
